Buy for the job you want to improve
Jim costs 150 Doubloons and speeds up grilling. SpongeBob costs 2,500 for two patties and automatic flipping. Mr. Krabs costs 1,700 for another table and more end-of-day crew cash. These perks solve different delays; your budget and solo or crew role should decide the purchase.
All ten recorded classes
Costs use Doubloons, not restaurant dollars. Perks below are Level 1. CHALLS’s recorded cards directly support Fred, SpongeBob, Mr. Krabs and Larry; the other rows follow the dated community class tables. Check the selected card before spending because a later version can change a value.

| Patrick Janitor | 850 | Mopping is 25% faster | Orb of Confusion |

CHALLS’s Fred card at 0:38 shows the energy perk. The SpongeBob card at 1:03 shows the cooking perk and 2,500 price. These are recorded menu states, not a site playtest of their effects.
Fred’s perk is visible; Squidward’s price still conflicts
Fred starts with +15 Bonus Energy. His inspected Level 1 card says so. A community walkthrough’s table lists no perk, but that older table does not override the specific card that was read.
Do not assume a universal Squidward unlock price. One guide lists 60 Doubloons; another shows him already unlocked. An account’s unlocked state can reflect earlier progress. The acquired material does not settle whether every new account starts the same way.
Squidward’s recorded +$2 per customer order taken makes him a register-focused option. That extra restaurant cash is separate from earning Doubloons. Read his selected Classes card to settle the actual purchase decision on your account.
Make the choice with the same budget in mind
At 150 Doubloons: improve the grill now or keep saving
If you repeatedly wait for a patty, Jim’s reported 25% faster cooking is an affordable response. Keeping the same 150 instead preserves it toward SpongeBob’s 2,500 goal. Jim gives an earlier improvement; saving aims for the different two-patty and automatic-flip benefit. Neither choice repairs a wrong recipe or an undelivered tray.
At 1,700: crew earnings or a later cooking goal
Mr. Krabs adds a table and 10% cash for the entire crew at day end. That is relevant when more seating and restaurant-upgrade money help your team. A solo player whose main trouble is burning patties may instead keep saving for SpongeBob. The cash perk does not add 10% to your lobby Doubloon rewards.
At 1,000: judge Gary against the crew you have
Gary’s shorter Kelp Shake Machine cooldown can help manage energy. His Magic Conch is reported to revive a fallen teammate. In solo play there is no separate teammate for that item to rescue, so do not treat it as a documented free self-revive.
Match the other perks to the work
Sandy’s extra tray slots address meal handling, while Larry’s extra inventory space is a different capacity benefit. Pearl speeds soda pouring; Patrick speeds mopping and starts with an Orb of Confusion. Their items can help particular interruptions, but owning a tool does not establish that it defeats every villain. Check the counter for the actual threat.
Unlock the class, then check for a claimable reward
- Open Classes in the lobby and select the character.
- Read the current Level 1 cost, perk and starting item. Compare the price with your Doubloon balance.
- Buy the role if it addresses your bottleneck, then confirm that it is unlocked and equipped for the next run.
- Open Tasks → Crew Roles. A class unlock can complete a separate objective; use Claim where the completed entry offers it.
The reported Jim unlock task returns 4 Doubloons after claiming. His displayed purchase price is still 150; the task is not a 146-Doubloon shop price. The complete earning and Claim procedure explains the difference.
Class levels and skins are separate progress
The inspected cards show a level and XP progress. The recorded examples are Fred: 300 XP to Level 2 and SpongeBob: 5,000 XP to Level 2. Those two examples are not a complete level table, and they do not establish an XP-per-shift rate.
Official badges distinguish unlocking a class, unlocking a class skin, and reaching character Levels 2 and 3. A cosmetic unlock and a class purchase are therefore different goals. Read the current level tab for later perks rather than applying the Level 1 table to every level.
Even with SpongeBob, you still need accurate assembly, delivery, table clearing and energy management. Automatic patty flipping also leaves Coral Bits in the fryer needing attention. Use the full station routine if those steps are delaying the run.
Class sources were checked October 21, 2026. The read CHALLS cards and dated community tables support different fields; the video notes and field conflicts explain the selection. Recommendations above follow the stated perks and player role, rather than a measured tier ranking.
This class comparison cannot settle Squidward’s current unlock price; inspect his selected Classes card before spending.
